Mark Frishberg, Ph.D., President
Mark joined Seres Laboratories, Inc., in July 2002 after a 28+ year career at Eastman Kodak and Eastman Chemical Company. His primary scientific expertise is in the area of heterocyclic and aromatic synthetic organic chemistry. The first half of his career was spent in the laboratory performing basic and applied R&D and process identification and scale-up of pharmaceuticals, colorants, and the identification of new chemical products and systems. He has worked on projects from grams to millions of kilograms, and processes from one to sixteen chemical steps utilizing both batch and continuous processes. The second half of his career has been spent in new business development for custom and fine organic chemicals on a global basis, primarily in the area of custom synthesis, unique pharmaceutical building blocks, and bulk actives. He has assisted over 50 companies, in meeting their outsourcing needs for custom chemicals. Mark has presented technical seminars at most major pharmaceutical companies in the US, Europe, and Japan and at conferences such a the Congress of Pharmaceutical Ingredients (CPI) in Europe and Asia, the SOCMA sponsored Informex trade show, and American Chemical Society National Meetings. Mark did his graduate work at Carnegie-Mellon University in synthetic organic chemistry and his undergraduate work at Case Institute of Technology in organic chemistry.
