Seres is currently seeking candidates for the following positions.
Process R&D Chemist
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform small-scale research, scale-up process development and larger scale batch production under cGMP conditions. A Process R&D Chemist is expected to perform synthetic lab work, supervise production chemists on a project basis, manage project timelines, be involved in customer discussions, conceive chemical synthetic schemes, write and review technical reports, stay current on chemical synthetic methods, maintain accurate lab records, safely handle hazardous materials and properly dispose of waste generated in a process.
Applicants must possess an advanced chemistry degree, have a minimum of 5 years experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry using cGMP practices, strong lab skills, ability to work independently and as a team member, possess good oral and written communication skills, and have excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Production Chemist
The primary responsibility of this position is to carry out organic synthesis as written in batch records, using cGMP and standard operating procedures and to conduct research to develop new synthetic processes under the direction of a Process R&D Chemist. Production Chemists are expected to set up, use and clean glassware up to 100L, dispense and use raw materials, maintain accurate lab records, safely handle hazardous materials and properly dispose of waste generated in a process. Other various affiliated laboratory duties may be assigned as project and/or company needs determine. These duties may include chemical purchasing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and hazardous waste management.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, preferably a minimum of 3 years experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry using cGMP practices, strong lab skills, good oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
